WHY ETAC NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT
It has been a long time dream of ETAC's founding members to have a permanent home where we could produce original works of art by independent and local artists. Our Executive Artistic Director, Monique D. Shaw, formed Monique Shaw Productions (MSP) in July 2008 and has brought quality theatre to the Atlanta metro area since March 2009. Like most theatre production companies, MSP rented various performance theatres and venues to produce its plays, shows, and events, but the availability of performance space is limited. Coupled with the desire to have a permanent home and discerning the need for entertainment in Snellville where she resides, Monique teamed up with Maquita, Dante, Queshan, and Darrlynn to form ETAC!
Our desire is to bring Snellville and surrounding areas a safe, creative, and collaborative environment to enhance creative abilities and afford growth. We want to offer the community a place to experience live entertainment, including plays, music, poetry, talent shows, and more, without having to drive to Atlanta or other communities. Not only will ETAC be a thriving arts and entertainment facility for adults and children, it will be a place where local playwrights, directors, artists, and entertainers who want to produce their own shows and events, in their own community, can have a performance space that meets their needs.
Our goal was to open ETAC in the summer/fall of 2020, but due to COVID-19, we had to pause on opening a commercial location. During the quarantine, we spent time meeting virtually to formulate our ideas, solidify our business plan, and build our team. We have a great idea, a solid plan, and an awesome team; now we need the funds to make ETAC a reality. Over the next 6-9 months, we will be raising funds through fundraisers, crowdfunding, capital contributions, and more. We need the community to stand with us and help raise the funds needed to open ETAC in the summer/fall of 2021.
ETAC will operate its arts and entertainment facility as a for-profit, limited liability company and will form a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation for its youth programs and training/education component. Our goal is to raise $100,000.00. Here's how you can help:
The funds we raise will be used as follows:
